9 reviews of Continental Airlines - CLOSED "Generally I fly American Airlines, because they seem to have a deal with all of the online booking sites, so that their flights are always featured, and I'm too lazy to investigate further. But I hate American Airlines. They squeeze you in like sardines, and their customer service sucks. So on a recent trip to New York, I ended up on Continental. What a blessed relief! When I checked in, the agent asked me if I wanted to sit in the exit row -- where you have more space, y'know. Of course I said yes. The two basketball players sitting next to me seemed a little cramped, but I had plenty of room -- something which is never the case on American, even with the "extra leg room" seats. The food was nasty little sandwiches, but at least it was free, unlike American, which charges you for nasty little sandwiches. Everyone I encountered acted professionally, and seemed to understand that they were in a service industry. On my return flight, a passenger had a seizure (luckily just as we were about to land), and the flight crew handled it well and discretely, and kept everyone else calm -- and in their seats, once we landed, so that the paramedics could board. BTW, on that return flight I was not in an exit row, but still had plenty of room (by airplane standards). The worst thing about Continental is that their terminal at O'Hare is a wreck right now. There's some construction going on, which is good, since it appears that the terminal hasn't been updated since the 60s. But you feel like you're flying out of Bosnia."
