I was once a very self-centered guy. It was all about me! Then, I met Jesus. It didn't happen all at once. By the mercy of God, I began to realize there was something missing in my life. I could definitely tell there was a hole in my soul and all of the sex, drugs, and rock n' roll couldn't fill it; only numb it a bit. I began to search for God. After, probably a year, I took my youngest daughter to the church I'd been "sending" her to because she wanted to be baptized. It was a United Pentecostal Church. That night I gave my life to Jesus and He responded in the most spectacular way. That experience changed my life forever. Yet, 4 or 5 years later, my marriage fell apart, I lost everything I'd worked so hard for, and I walked away from the church. There was a long period of darkness after that, but eventually I found my way back to the God who never changes. He knows how to deal with each of us. He exists outside of time and can see the end from the beginning. What a mighty God we serve! He preserved me through the dark times. He found for me a most perfect companion who loves me without hesitation. One day, I hope to stroll across heaven with her. He planted the two of us in the church she grew up in and opened the door for me to serve Him as a Sunday school teacher. When all of the lockdowns began and our Sunday school class could not regularly meet, I began an online ministry by publishing our lessons as videos. I'm so happy with this life and the opportunities He gives me to serve Him. May we all work for His kingdom until He calls us home......by the grave or by the snatching away.

  • I'm so grateful to God for allowing me to be born at this exciting time in the history of mankind, and I'm especially grateful to have been born in the USA.
You would think, with free education for all, that Americans would know how very fortunate they are to be my contemporaries. But, alas, far too many are focused on wretchedness instead.
Today is Thanksgiving; a day to give thanks to the One and Only True and Living God for the overwhelming blessings He's bestowed upon the people of our great nation.
The "greatness" of our country is waning. It's faltering because the people have chosen to reject Him and the precepts He's given us to live by. So today I would encourage each of us to not only say a nice little prayer over our holiday meal but to ask that He send a revival to the hearts of His believers and a profound realization of who He is to those among us who have yet to actually believe in Him in the first place.
I ran across this video this morning and learned some things I was never taught in that "free" school system I grew up in.
    I hope you watch it.....

  • The 3rd in our 4-lesson series under the general heading of:

    Don't Forget.
Drawn from the 3rd chapter of the Book of Galatians, Paul addresses a problem that has developed in the churches in Galatia because of the arrival of a group of Jews from Jerusalem.
These Jews, also known as Judaizers, were also Christian. But these men were insisting that, in order to be saved, Gentiles must 1st become Jews and comply with the Law of Moses.
Salvation comes from God's grace alone, through our faith alone, in Christ alone. Even the faith we claim as our own actually comes as a gift from God.
The Savior is the only man who has ever been able to live his entire life in complete obedience to the Law of Moses. No other human being has accomplished that. Even if one did live his life in obedience to it, the law still has no power to save anyone. If anything, the law convicts and convinces mankind of his need for a "Savior."
Even the Jews, God's chosen people, may not add to or take away from the simple salvation God offers all of us through the gospel.

The outbreak of the coronavirus has changed so many things about our lives. It has affected how we live, where we go, and how we interact with the people around us.
One of the saddest things, in my opinion, is that so very many people have stopped going to church.
For the past year, I've been posting video Sunday school lessons. They offer insight into a large variety of subjects. You are more than welcome to visit either of the sites, (linked above), to find lists of all of them.
I'm also willing to engage in private conversations if you wish.
There is no money involved; this isn't about making money, it's about something that's worth infinitely more than silver or gold.

  • God gives those of us who trust in Christ
a new identity and He calls on us
to put away the behavior of our old selves
and put on the behavior of our new selves.

When you’re born again, you really do
become a new creature in Christ.

    It’s unavoidable and inevitable.

  • Is there such a thing as faith in Jesus that can not save you?
God justifies people by faith, not works; however, true faith is verified by works.

  • Moses had his "Burning-Bush" moment, and Saul, (the apostle Paul), had his "Damascus-Road" moment.
God has intervened all through the ages in ways that have changed the trajectory of humanity.
Today, we're going to see how God dramatically changed the direction of the life of Saul of Tarsus.
It just doesn't matter what the outward appearance of the rankest sinner is, God wants us to witness to everyone. His Holy Spirit will do the rest!

  • I ran across something mighty interesting this morning.
In the news over the past months, we've heard of how the current California governor, Gavin Newsome, had a dinner party at the French Laundry, a ridiculously expensive eatery. He did this knowing perfectly well he was breaking the very ordinances he put into place for the citizens of his own state.
In another incident, Nancy Pelosi had her hair done in a beauty parlor, a business type that she had ordered to remain closed.
Both of these people, (and probably most of our state and federal officials), want to sit upon their lofty perches and dictate to the rest of us while considering themselves above the law.
While reading this morning in the Book of Galatians, I read where Paul was pointing out that those who could not live by the law handed down from God through Moses were, themselves, trying to force new Christians who weren't Jewish to obey that very same set of laws.
    It's, "Galatians 6-13,
For those who are circumcised do not even keep the Law themselves, but they desire to have you circumcised so that they may boast in your flesh."
Our leaders, for the most part, are breaking our laws and there is no one who is able to hold them accountable. How can that be?
There is another understanding in this great book we call the Bible. It deals with yeast. It's called leaven. Yeast/leaven is a bacteria that, when added to the dough, causes it to rise. It does this by rapidly multiplying throughout the entire lump of dough that it's added to.
When compared and applied to government corruption, it's easy to see how this hypocrisy has spread out through all three branches and throughout all of the bureaucracies that drain our nations' resources.
I wonder how much longer we can hold out as a republic with so many criminals in charge?

  • Christians are Christians because they strive to be Christ-like.
How can a person be Christ-like unless they study the man from Galilee and apply His characteristics to themselves?
Since the beginning of the "plandemic" I have been publishing video Sunday school lessons to the internet. Most of them are on YouTube on my channel; "JESUS- jpaul fontan." Here's a link to this weeks lesson: https://youtu.be/8jboiO5GT28
The only thing that's in it for me is my service to the Lord.
