GOD'S COVENANT PEOPLE ALWAYS GATHER. THANKSGIVING IS A RELIGIOUS FEAST DAY... Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles)

The Pilgrims based their customs on Scripture.
Before coming to the New World, to avoid religious persecution, the Pilgrims lived for a short time among Sephardic Jews in Holland. In fact, our American Thanksgiving tradition may have been indirectly inspired by the Biblical holiday of Sukkot.

After the 53 Pilgrims had reaped their first harvest surviving many challenges with the help of Native Americans. They held a three-day celebration to give thanks. Ninety Wampanoag Native Americans joined in the feast.
The first Thanksgiving occurred during the fall of A.D. 1621. They gave thanks for their safety, for the health of their children, for the fertility of their fields, for the love which bound them together, and for the faith which united them with their God. The feast was held in early fall, around the time of the Feast of Tabernacles.

Both the Pilgrims and the Jews were victims of religious persecution. The Sephardic Jews were expelled from Spain in 1492; they scattered and eventually settled in different parts of Europe and the Middle East. A small group of Jews made Holland their home. The Pilgrims escaped England in 1608 to avoid the increasing intolerance of their Separatist views by the Bishop of Lincoln and Archbishop of York. Both the Jews and the Pilgrims settled in Holland because of the country’s religious tolerance.

  • How are you preparing your family to leave a multi-generational legacy for those you will never meet?

“Few people realize that America was founded because a devout band of non-conformist Christians lived and breathed the covenant promises of Jesus Christ. Though the Pilgrims left England because of religious persecution, they actually left Holland to protect their children from ungodly influences. These parents risked everything to protect their young. Bradford boldly proclaimed that these families were willing to sacrifice their lives, if necessary, "even though they [the Pilgrims] be but stepping stones" for future generations of Christians they would never meet. It is the true story of 50 "average" people who changed the world because they shared a multi-generational vision. We cannot truly appreciate the sacrifices of the Pilgrims and the significance of Thanksgiving if we do not know the real story.” (Summary by Vision Forum)

  • THE COURAGE OF ESTHER

I strongly believe that heroes, and those who change the course of history, are those with enough courage to stand up against the tide of sin and injustice. Oftentimes these heroes stand alone, but they do so with an undying passion of conviction. Perhaps they connect with who they really are and why they were born. Every generation has a sacred calling and purpose. If you feel stirrings, then heed the call to do what you were called to do. It will take courage, but remember, if you are called to a work, God has called you, and He is working through you. With that knowledge, you need not be afraid.

I testify that God has a plan. He is bigger than the noise of the elections, viruses, fake news, and face coverings. We hear Him through the still small voice, but we have to tune out the noise to hear Him.

I am certain each one of us were born for a time such as this. I know that we each play a part. Find the courage to stand up to your call, whatever that is. If you feel you stand alone, know that when you are about our Father’s work, you have legions of unseen angels to back you up. I hope to connect with God and move forward with faith in what He would have me do.

This is an excellent short inspirational video of Esther:
