  • What are your favorite science and history curriculums for 1st grade? For science we may just do whatever topic is interesting at the time, but I feel a weight to get a solid history foundation.

  • Are there any online test to get an idea where you child is in things like math, reading, writing etc. We took our son out of school around December. Everyone said to give him time to destress from Public school. Well it's been about 6 months and I'm feeling like I need to help him figure some things out and think about education. Are there any recommended online places that can be helpful? He's turning 14 and isn't interested in learning and I'm trying to help him figure out what he likes.

  • This is my first year homeschooling and we are loving it. I have an educator background and wrote most of my kid's curriculum on my own. I love being able to teach using the scriptures. Wanted to share my curriculum in case anyone else could use it. It's all available for free, though it is a work in progress and I only have preschool, K, 2nd, and 5th grade so far. www.phoenixhomeacademy.org

  • Here's an idea I just had with my special needs kindergartner: We put her snack in a lunch tray and practiced part-part-whole math. With her, food is the best manipulative.

  • I'm looking into homeschooling my 8th grader. I haven't homeschooled in over a decade. I have also not homeschooled beyond elementary. He does not like school. Where do I start? How do I help him learn his math and English and things that he needs to pass? I need to make a decision before the end of this year. Thank you.
