  • What is the difference between a commandment of the Lord, and “words of wisdom” or counsel? For instance, is it a commandment to attend the temple, attend church, serve our fellow men and women, read our scriptures, pray, etc? When the Word of Wisdom starts with, “...sent greeting; not by commandment or constraint, but by revelation... showing forth the order and will of God in the temporal salvation of all saints in the last days” do you take this as different that a commandment such as “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy” or “Honor thy father and thy mother...”?

In short, what do you see as the difference between a commandment and words of wisdom or counsel from the Lord, and what is the significance?

  • I am ever so grateful to be a mother. I have so many opportunities to learn as I try to guide my own children. I recognize what my parents went through, and it heals my past. I see things I will deal with in the future and it helps me plan. I see that God loves me so much, because I am only capable of a portion of His love, and it is intense. I am grateful to learn patience, fortitude, and forgiveness, and so much more, because I am a mother. #givethanks

  • I am grateful for the atonement of my Savior Jesus Christ. There are no words to describe how much this gift has meant to me.

  • Matthew is doing so well. He’s walking with a spotter and doing so much on his own again. He can eat, drink, get himself up from the couches and chairs, and tell us what he needs. He has stabilized on his body temps and is staying awake most of the regular hours that he used to at baseline. He is still having seizures, but only one or two small ones a day compared to the six or seven prior to surgery, and they are so short. We are pleased with all the progress.

  • “Mom, back when they didn’t have phones or computers, how did they know what day it was?”

    “Um, calendars.”

    “Like Marie Calendar's?”
