  • I have been amazed at Satan's masterful plan. We've always known there would be persecution of Christians and Latter Day Saints in the last days, but what I didn't fully see coming was the way Satan would come in and divide church member against church member, family member against family member, friends and neighbors against each other. His plan is brilliant and we need to be aware of what the adversary is doing. We need to stay unified in Christ. We will not be unified in philosophy, politics, or the way to handle covid, but we CAN be unified in Jesus Christ. We can still love each other and not see eye to eye. These scriptures struck me yesterday:
    "For behold, his designs were to stir up the Lamanites to anger against the Nephites; this he did that he might USURP GREAT POWER OVER THEM, and also that he might gain power over the Nephites by bringing them into bondage.
    And now the design of the Nephites was to support their lands, and their houses, and their wives, and their children, that they might preserve them from the hands of their enemies; and also that they might preserve their rights and their privileges, yea, and also their liberty, that they might worship God according to their designs."
    Alma 43:1-2
    I read one of the most heart wrenching books last year. It's a historical novel about the persecutions of the Christians during the time of Nero. I read that Quo Vadis is the most accurate portrayal of the Christians in Rome during that time. The horrible things these people had to endure for their faith is unimaginable. The story will make you look deep inside and ask yourself, what am I willing to give and sacrifice for Christ and my faith? It is inspiring and will give you courage.
    Quo Vadis comes from Apocryphal writings when Peter says to Christ, "Domine, quo vadis" meaning, "Where are you going, Lord?"
    There is also a movie, but the book is the best!

  • I found this great poem in my reading this morning. ❤

    For My Country

    I ought to love my country,
    The land in which I live;
    Yes, I am very sure my heart
    Its truest love should give.

    She wants me brave and noble,
    She needs men brave and kind;
    My country needs that I should be
    the best man she can find.

  • Over the last few months I have seen many name-calling, ridiculing and mocking those who voted for or supported Trump. I have seen quite a few posts and comments asking how a Christian or a person of faith could be so stupid and idiotic as to vote for Trump. I will tell you my three main reasons. There are other reasons as well but these are the three main ones.
    1) Trump is pro-life
    2) Trump is against Socialism/Communism
    3) Trump is for Israel
    Those are three reasons a Christian would choose to vote for Trump. Watch carefully what Biden has already done and will continue to do in all three of these categories.
    (I posted this on Facebook but thought I would share it on Heroes as well.)

  • Lafayette, a Frenchman, loved liberty and saw the importance of what the American people were fighting for during the Revolutionary War. This is just a taste of the character, courage and vision of this great hero.
    The Count de Broglie, commander of the garrison at Metz, said to Lafayette after the Marquis told of his plans to help the Americans, "Throw your life away in that land of savages! Why, my dear marquis, it is a crazy scheme; and to what purpose?"
    Lafayette replied, "For the noblest purpose, sir, to help a devoted people attain their liberty. What can be nobler?"
